Easy, leisurely, linear walk along the river Thames via historic meadows, passing several locks and eyots. Pub/picnic lunch at Chertsey Bridge.
Staines Railway Station (In view of the scheduled railway strike, the leader advises taking either the 290 bus from Twickenham (Arragon Road) to Staines, or the 216 from Kingston. Staines Station is the next stop after Knowle Green).
Shepperton Railway Station (Return by 458 from Shepperton to Kingston [hourly service], or the 555 via Sunbury, where one can change to the 216 to Kingston via Hampton, or the 237 to Brentford via Feltham and Hounslow).
