We leave the Car park and follow a path which meanders towards the Sugar Loaf. The walk becomes more demanding as we near the summit but we then veer off and take a gentler winding route to the top. Views from the summit can be quite spectacular on a clear day - south into Somerset and North well into the Welsh marches. We will lunch on top and then head south back towards the Car park, but only overlapping our steps at the very end.
This walk involves very significant downhill sections so please be sure yout are able to cope with such landscape. If you have any doubts about your ability to complete this walk please give me a ring and I will advise. Parking is VERY limited at the start point, car sharing from Aberganvenny Car Parks is strongly advised. The start time of 09.30 reflects the issue of parking difficulty.
