Overview

A leisurely walk along the coast to Penarth with good views of Bristol channel. Passing Sully Island,  WW2 bunkers and forts, and Lavernock Church. We will take lunch on the Victorian Pier which was opened in 1898.

Here there will be an opportunity to enjoy an obligatory ice cream too.

We will return via the disused railway path to rejoin the coast path near Lavernock.

Walkers who would prefer a shorter walk can join us at Lavernock Church where there is some lane parking (CF64 5XQ) at 11am.
