This is the fifth in the mountain fitness series of five walks aimed at improving fitness and stamina.
Bring packed lunch. Pub stop for drinks only. Optional pub at the end for drinks and/or dinner.
The Long Man and His Sisters is a horseshoe shaped walk in the South Downs National Park. It starts in Hampden Park and continues up Willingdon Hill and Combe Hill. The next hill is Wilmington Hill with views of the long man hill figure cut into the landscape. We continue to the village of Alfriston and then on to the Long Brow Hill in Friston Forest. The walk then passes through the visitor center at Exceat and hugs the coast through the Seven Sisters country park with several ascents and descents. We finish in Eastbourne.
As with all of our strenuous walks, this is not recommended for your first walk with us. If you are a regular member or if you enjoyed the earlier walks in the series, but want something longer, faster and hillier then this would be a good one to join.
