We are the Eastleigh Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Meet at the Gratton Recreation Ground Car Park in Sutton Scotney - see web link. Approaching the village from the south go right through the village and on reachin a roundabout go right and then the car park entrance is on the right shortly after. 2 metre height restriction barrier.
The No 75 bus from Andover arrives in time for the walk, from Winchester it arrives at 10.13 - notify the leader via the email link if you are going to be on it.
The walk is easy going between 196 and 308 feet above sea level with a few stiles when crossing the valley of the River Dever which is crossed four times. Bring something to drink and eat - there will be stops at the two churches on the route.
To assist in completing the attendance register please use the email link to confirm you are coming by 8pm on 22 November 2025 - no reply will be sent unless you are seeking further information. If everyone who has registered is there the walk may start earlier.
The Coach and Horses in Sutton Scotney serves food afterwards.
The leader requires participants to -
(a) Stay behind the leader during the walk unless otherwise instructed;
(b) To walk in single file on carriageways without footways
and
(c) If the attendance exceeds 12 there will need to be a volunteer to be a back marker during the walk.
