Telford Walk Week traditionally ends with a big mass linear walk along parts of the T50 Trail, picking up walkers at staged points along the route, to converge at the Town Park at 3pm for a celebratory friendly get together, with free light refreshments at the Town Park Visitor Centre. This year there will be a free bus back to many start points. A leader from Telford and East Shropshire Ramblers has traditionally led the route along Stage 7 of the Trail from Newport and Lilleshall, with a choice from a long all day 10.6 mile walk to a short 2 mile afternoon ramble, with lots of options in between. This part of the T50 Trail visits many scenic viewpoints and places of historic interest including Lilleshall Hill, Granville Country Park with its old blast furnaces and canal basin, Flash Lake at Priorslee, the old Priorslee Village and crosses the local nature reserve of Randlay Woods and Telford Town Park. This walk can provide an ideal alternative walk for Ramblers who prefer a shorter and more local walk on Sundays to our our normal 8 mile plus walks in the Shropshire countryside. This is a shared walk with Telford & Wrekin Council and Friends of The Telford T50 50 Mile Trail and is open to all, everyone is welcome to come along.
