A walk in the gently undulating countryside of north Hertfordshire, passing through a small nature reserve and several attractive villages along the way. Starting from Therfield the morning 7.3 mile loop goes via Roe Green, Sandon and Kelshall. After a lunch stop back in Therfield the (optional) afternoon 2.4 mile loop explores more of the pleasant village of Therfield and some of its many footpaths.
Following persistent or heavy rain some short stretches are likely to be muddy.
Bring rations for mid-morning break, and for lunch break if planning to join the afternoon loop. Please remember that during hot weather it is important to bring sufficient water/drink.
Estimated timings: 7.3 mile morning loop 10am-1.30pm; half-hour lunch stop; 2.4 mile afternoon loop 2-3pm.
