Overview

A walk around Thorndon Park and Warley Common. Visiting Warley Place Nature Reserve (run by Essex Wildlife Trust) for spring flowers (suggested £2 donation per visitor, please bring coins). Lunch at the Thatchers Arms Pub (bookable before start of walk).

UPDATE: woodland routes are very muddy so bring walking poles if you have them. Daffodils have unfortunately peaked but now camellias and magnolias.Walk is 9 miles and visiting Warley place first so longer afternoon. Packed lunch can be eaten in Warley Place. Due to high parking charge if anyone wants to catch the 351 bus from Chelmsford bus station at 10:05 to Warley Eagle Way, you can join the group there as we pass the Ford HQ building.
