An exhilarating climb onto Threlkeld Knotts, a subsidiary summit beneath the headland of Clough Head, returning via a rarely-visited Bronze Age settlement.
From the Dickney picnic site car park, we descend through Threlkeld and cross the A66 road on our way over towards the foot of our ascent to Threlkeld Knotts.
There are great views of the surrounding mountains and countryside which we will take in along the way.
For those in need of refreshment there is a great cafe stop in Threlkeld at the end of the walk. The sticky ginger is recommended!
