An eight mile walk on paths by a riverside through parkland and woods, crossing main roads that are served by buses to Hounslow. So, if you want a shorter walk, this is possible. The path may be muddy. I suggest you wear thick-soled boots if there has been recent rain. For about half of the walk people can walk two abreast. The side of the river is woodland. Local history will be presented. We can visit an allotment site en route.
Bring your lunch. Toilets are available at Twickenham Station and at Kneller Park ¾ mile into the route and at the entrance to the crematorium at Hanworth Road. Refreshments are available at Baber Bridge after walking 4.5 mile. A toilet may be available at a café at Cranford. We stop for packed lunch a few hundred yards after Baber Bridge. To allow time for stops and descriptions of points of interest, this walk is likely to take about four hours.
If you would like to be notified of any last-minute changes to the walk, send your email address to the walk leader who will will let you know of any day-before changes. Do check your email after 6pm on the night before the walk just in case there are any last-minute changes.
