We start the walk with 3 climbs, taking us up an incline of 845 ft with a break after each climb through a wooded area. We then follow a forest track for 3 miles before we divert off with a slight climb to Pwlltra woods. We then continue on a track to our lunch stop at a beautiful spot with seating and fantastic views. We then continue up a bank onto Mynydd Henlys and the Cambrain way. We enjoy fantastic view over Cwmbran, Newport and the Bristol Channel. From here it is up to Twmbarlwm, an iron age hillfort built during the Roman times. This has spectacular 360 degree views of the sourounding area. We then start our decent, a steep grassy path and then join a loose gravel path before arriving back to the visitors centre via a couple of lakes.
