This is a varied and scenic walk with some great views. A mix of woodland tracks, field paths and some lane walking. There is just one notable ascent which is short - and which we will take both steadily and very gently. There are a number of stiles but all are in reasonable condition.
We will start from the car park in Uffmoor Wood - and will take our coffee stop at the Nimmings car park - where apart from the good views - there is also the NT coffee shop - and toilets !
Parking at the Uffmoor Wood car park is free - but spaces can be limited - so car sharing if you can would be very helpful !
There are 2 ways of getting to Uffmoor Lane and the Uffmoor Wood car park:
1. - Via Rubery and the Lydiate Ash M5 Junction ; -
From Lydiate Ash take the A491 towards Stourbridge.
Go first right on the B455, Money Lane. Travel for 2 miles.
Go past the Romsley sign and at the Sun Inn turn left. Travel for about 1 mile.
At the Chapel Lane junction continue straight on into Uffmoor Lane and the car park is signed and on your right after 1/3 of a mile.
2. - Via the A456 Hagley Road : -
(Note - this not suitable using the A456 Hagley Road coming from the Hagley roundabout - as you can't turn right into Uffmoor Lane !)
Get yourself onto the A456 Hagley Road heading out of Birmingham towards Kidderminster.
Follow the signs to the M5 and Kidderminster - continue on under the M5 - still on the A456 towards Kidderminster.
Continue downhill past the Shell garage on your left. Go straight on then over the next island - still heading towards Hagley and Kidderminster.
Continue past the Halesowen Golf range on your left - and then - just before the next roundabout - Uffmoor Lane is on your left.
Note - This lane is not signposted to Uffmoor Wood or labelled as Uffmoor Lane - but turn left here !
Then the Uffmoor Wood Car park is down this lane 0.75 mile on your left.
