Overview

Wednesday 5th March 10:30 - Waddington, three villages and Edisford Bridge walk, 10 miles. There is an option for walkers to shorten the walk to 8.5 miles

The walk starts from Waddington, the route passes over a mixture of field, woods and quiet lanes to Bashall Eves which has a restored cheese press before continuing to Bashall Hall dating from 1600. The walk continues on to Eddison Bridge before following the Ribble. At Waddington Bridge there is an option to cut short the walk and return to the start by taking the road to Waddington or via Waddow Hall the home of the Girl Guides. The longer walk continues along the river and then by road to West Bradford. returning to Waddington over fields.

Generally a low level walk over some scenic and quiet countryside. Some awkward stiles in poor repair.

Meet: Twitter Lane CP (free) Sat Nav BB7 3LF. This is for the Lower Buck Inn which is nearby. Or use Twitter Lane, Waddington if using a Sat Nav Directions: From Preston: follow the B6243 (Ribbleton Lane) to Clitheroe. Immediately prior to crossing Edisford Bridge take the last left turn signed Waddington. At the end of the road (T junction) turn left into Twitter Lane. CP on the left
