Overview

Starting at the Winchester Park and Ride. We start the walk by climbing St Catherine's Hill and enjoying some great views. After descending the hill we follow St James Way through the water meadows, passing St Cross hospital on the way into the city centre. We walk through to the Cathedral where we will have a picnic lunch in the grounds. After lunch we will walk through the town centre passing the Buttercross and King Alfred's statue, with an optional visit to The Mill (bring your NT cards for entry). We then walk back along the river, and around St Catherine's back to the cars.
