Overview

Join us for an urban wander through 5 Glasgow parks. Visiting Queens Park, Cathkin Park, Ardmay Park, Kings Park and Linn Park.

As well as a walk through some of Glasgow’s green spaces there will be some history, some football and some wee hills. There are some good views over Glasgow.

This is an undulating route on mainly good tarmac packs with the odd potentially muddy areas through woods.

If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the Leader (Sandra) in advance by email or text but not more than two weeks in advance. Also please provide the Leader with a mobile phone number in case arrangements change. 

If you’ve not had a response within a couple of days please check your junk mail.

Walkers should not come on the walk if they have any symptoms associated with the Covid virus.

There are no toilets on this route.

There will be a couple of stops for a snack and lunch.

At the end of the walk there will be the opportunity to go for a hot or a cold drink, if you wish.

There is a variety of public transport to get to Queens Park. The nearest station is Queens Park. First Bus numbers 3, 38 and 57, Stagecoach no 4 and McGills no 3 all pass the park. For those wishing to come by train please meet outside M&S at Central Station at 9:40 to catch the 9:53 train to Neilston, alighting at Queens Park Station. It is a short walk along Niddrie Road to reach the park. The walk leaders will meet you at the starting point.
