Overview

West Mendip Walkers moderate 8 mile circular walk from North Curry Church (TA3 6LH). The walk starts in a southerly direction following East Deane Way for a short distance before turning right on to Overland Lane then left to cross over Westfield Lane to make its way around to Helland and Helland Lane. The route eventually meets up with the East Deane Way south of Huntham and runs parallel to Sedgemoor Old Rhyne until it crosses a footbridge just outside Stoke St Gregory. Here it turns to pass through the village and at the cross roads we turn right to find a footpath on the left towards the end of a row of houses. We follow this footpath up to and beyond Slough Court (a late medieval fortified and moated manor house circa 16th century)  to join Stanmoor Mead Drove which eventually joins the River Parrett Trail/ East Deane Way. At this point we turn left passing the Willow Weaving Centre with a steep climb on to Windmill Hill and continue along the ridge until reaching Moredon where we descend back to our start point.
