We are the Retford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This part of the Wanderlust way starts at Wold Newton, North Lincolnshire and passes through Hawerby cum Beesby, Ashby cum Fenby and East Ravendale.
The walk generally follows field edge paths, tracks and some minor roads. It is relatively easy in an undulating landscape, some narrow lanes, woodland valleys and windy hilltops. Extensive views of the Humber Estuary.
Chapelgate Car Park. NOTE: Please advise Ruth beforehand if you are planning to go directly to the Start Point , i.e. if you are not going to Chapelgate first.
From Retford take the A620 to Gainsborough. Join the A631 and continue over Caenby Corner. After Bishopbridge carry straight on (veer left) to the A1103 ( DO NOT continue on the A631 to Market Rasen ). Cross the A46 to Walesby, up Walesby Hill. Turn Right on to the B1225 then Left to Kirmond Le Mire and through to Binbrook. Turn Right then first Left in Binbrook. Go up Swinhope Hill. Turn sharp right (back on yourself) at the Clickem Restaurant/Pub. Then first left. At the end of this lane turn Right into Wold Newton. Parking is on the roadside at the double bends as you enter the village from this direction. There are several roads into Wold Newton. Whichever route you take Parking is at the North of the village.
