Overview

Overview

This is a leisurely walk mostly along good footpaths and trails which are extensively used by dog walkers and some horses.  The forest park has a variety of trails and some tracks through woodland areas.

There are a couple of minor ascents and stairs both up and down. No stiles.  The route takes us around the park and either side of the duck/swan lake.  The trail is home to several pieces of artwork which can be seen as we proceed on the trail and also a small man-made waterfall.

We will stop for lunch halfway round and at the end of the walk we will call into the local café (sited near the large car park) which also has a toilet.

From the A1 take the exit onto the A692 up Lobley Hill Road, after about 500 meters take a right at the traffic lights and then after nearly 100 meters next left into the car park.
