NLSH Ramblers is a really friendly group, whose members all share a love of walking and the countryside. You’ll always receive a warm welcome from us, whether you want to walk with us regularly or from time to time.
A pleasant walk, largely along quiet country lanes or in open countryside, and passing through pretty villages such as Duxford, Ickleton, Wendens Ambo and Newport. The route is initially flat but rises to 400ft in the middle part of the walk. There are fine views from Coploe Hill over the Cam valley and later over the rolling hills of the Cambridgeshire/Essex border. A final descent will bring us down to Newport station for the end of the walk.
No toilets. Only one shop on the way so bring food and drink. Whittlesford Parkway and Newport stations are on the railway line from Liverpool Street to Cambridge. Car parking is available at both stations.
