Overview

Meet at 10:30am at the Colwell Bay car park, some parking spaces available in adjacent streets otherwise around £6 in the car park. We'll enjoy a 7 mile circular walk starting with a stroll along the sea side to Totland Bay then up to the winding gorse-lined paths of Headon Warren. Then through Alum Bay car park (toilets available) and up onto Tennyson Down. We follow the north side of the down to the coastguard cottages then cross to the southern side and head back towards Freshwater with some of the best views on the IOW. Then back across to Headon Warren to reverse our outbound route back on the coast to Totland and Colwell. No stiles, pretty much mud free, one shortish flight of steps and a couple of moderate climbs, about 3 hours total. Bring a pack lunch, snacks also available on route.
