We are the Broxtowe Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Along the Cromford canal to cross the A6 then heading up to climb through Birch wood and onto Black Rocks area where we will have lunch.
After lunch stop, head down hill to High Peak junction ( another toilet stop) then back along Cromford canal to Whatstandwell.
Could be muddy in parts but mainly on paths.
Toilets at Black Rocks car park at lunchtime, kiosk closed for the winter.
Leawood Pumphouse will be open for the first time this year in the afternoon so we can visit it on the way back (static/ not operational).
Meet and park at Whatstandwell train station car park (£2 for the day/ £2.50 if parking before 10 am). Pay by cash/card or RingGo. There is also limited free parking on the wharf and we will walk past the wharf at approximately 10.20 am.
