This walk is for up to 20 people, including the leader.
Join us for a scenic walk through the gently undulating landscape in and around Woburn Deer Park. The route offers a relaxing blend of nature, history, and community, making for an enjoyable outdoor experience. Keep your camera handy to capture the beautiful scenery and wildlife encounters.
Woburn Deer Park is part of the extensive grounds of Woburn Abbey, a country estate that is the family seat of the Duke of Bedford. The Deer Park was originally established and stocked for game hunting, a popular and important passtime for the aristocracy of the time. Nowadays it’s a conservation park for four species of deer.
We will begin by heading through open fields and woodland areas that are home to a variety of wildlife, including deer and numerous bird species. The trail meanders through the peaceful countryside, taking us along gentle paths and through the scenic Speedwell Belt—a lovely heathland and woodland habitat perfect for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
Our first notable stop is in the charming village of Eversholt, where we’ll take a 30-minute break for lunch at the historic St John the Baptist Church. During this stop, you’re welcome to explore the church and see the last remaining public pump in Eversholt, which has been restored by volunteer parishioners in 1993/4—a fascinating piece of local history. We’ll also have the opportunity to relax and enjoy refreshments at The Green Man pub.
After lunch, the trail continues through more scenic countryside. Along this second half of the walk, you’ll enjoy further wildlife sightings and stunning views of the landscape. We’ll pass along woodland paths, open farmland, and quiet country lanes as we loop back towards our start point in Woburn village.
Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Booking your place: Please book your place using the free Meetup website/app. Join the Stag Walkers Meetup group and click the 'Attend' button on the event page.
Please do not turn up for a walk without booking, as places are limited.
If the walk is fully booked, click 'join waitlist' to get a place if one becomes available and please check back regularly as you will likely get a place. The waitlist gives priority to single bookings so if you wish to bring a guest, we recommend booking separately.

Please:
- DO NOT book onto a walk unless you are pretty sure you will be able to make it.
- UPDATE YOUR RSVP. We understand ‘life happens’ so if you need to change your RSVP please do this at least 24 hours before the walk and before booking closes to enable someone else to take your place.
- DON’T NO-SHOW on the day unless it is absolutely unavoidable (we do understand ‘life happens’) because it prevents others from enjoying a walk if it is fully booked.
- *TAKE NOTE that if you no-show three times, without extenuating circumstances, we will decline further bookings from you for a period of six weeks.*
- DO car-share or use public transport if possible. To offer a lift or ask for one from a fellow walker, please use the Meetup event page.
- BRING a packed lunch/snacks and drinks, appropriate clothing for the conditions and optionally a basic first aid kit.
- FOLLOW NHS guidelines and do not attend the walk if you are unwell.
