West Mendip Walkers moderate 11.8 mile circular walk from Wrington Chapel (BS40 5NH) with 1,100 feet of ascent. We start by heading north up Bullhouse Lane before taking a meandering westerly footpath through Water Catch and the Westerly part of Corporation Woods. We then head in a Northerly direction through King’s Wood before crossing the outskirts of Cleeve and up onto Cleeve Toot, an Iron Age hillfort, and Cleeve Combe. From here we head in an Easterly direction towards Warren House and Goblin Combe before heading South past Spying Copse and Pine Farm and then walk through Prestow Wood and a short road walk back to Wrington Chapel. The walk is predominantly on forest tracks and good footpaths although some small muddy sections may be encountered at this time of year. The walk is dog-friendly although there are wild goats on Goblin Combe where dogs need to be on leads.
