Overview

Joint with Hampstead Group.

A moderately paced, undulating, linear 12.5 mile walk.

Route: along the Wye and Crundale Downs, with views over the surrounding countryside (designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), passing the Wye Crown Memorial, the Devil's Kneading Trough, Godmersham Park and the pretty village of Chilham. 

Lunch Stop: Picnic only - please bring food and drink with you. The pub at Sole Street is now closed and unlikely to re-open so picnic is the only option.

Meet at Wye Station at 11.12.

Travel: Charing Cross 09.29/Waterloo East 09.32/London Bridge 09.38/Ashford International 10.48 - Rail Replacement bus departs Ashford 11.00 arr Wye at 11.12.

Check trains day before.

Ticket/Fare: Buy Off-Peak Day Return to Chilham. 

Finish: Chilham Station - Rail Replacement bus departs 16.59 arr Ashford Intl at 17.20 for 17.32 SE train arr Charing Cross 18.49.
