Overview

Walk to the Artisan Café on the High Street for coffee/toilets. From there, through the woods to Banstead Heath (Walton Downs), taking a loop to the right across the open heathland, and arriving at the Sportsman soon after 12 noon for a pre-booked lunch. Non-participants will be able to buy hot bacon or sausage brioches with coffee at the hut there, and/or picnic on the benches opposite. Return to Tadworth (2 miles) will be parallel to the 420 route allowing drop-offs on the way but arrival at Tadworth should be to catch the 16:04 to Sutton.

Update: It is essential that you book by Monday 2nd December 6pm for eating in the Sportsman soon after 12 on the 20th. Choose from the Festive Menu on the website if you are having the three courser for £38.95 but if you intend to eat from the main menu also on the website it is only necessary to book your place (but an indication of main course might be prudent).
If you do not book you can come on the walk but you will have to eat outside in the picnic area or by the coffee stall if you purchase a sausage and/or bacon brioche. We will not leave the Sportsman until about 2pm or later for our bus journey home once we reach the A217 (several possibilities depending on time and westher)
Please also note if you only book for the pub and come by car there is ANPR in the car park
