The route is mostly on paths across fields and is likely to be a bit muddy. We will leave the Yardley Gobion Sports and Social Club car park along School Lane and then we will turn left to join a field path that skirts the village. Crossing Moorend Road we will head along a track towards Gobion Motors before branching off across fields eventually passing by The Queen’s Oak
We will then turn towards Potterspury across more fields before entering the village and walking along the High Street and Church End. We will then head off along a footpath that will take us to the lake at Furtho just below St Bartholomew's Church.
We will then follow further footpaths across fields to bring us back into Yardley Gobion where we will walk along Hesketh Road through the village until we reach School Lane to bring us back to the car park. There are 6 stiles none of which are all that difficult.
After the walk, for those who want to join me for a drink and/or lunch, the Coffee Pot Tavern on the High Street provides a warm welcome, good beer and reasonably priced lunches.
We will meet in the car park at the back of the Yardley Gobion Sports and Social Club, which is off Hesketh Road down School Lane by the side of the village shop. This is a large car park. There are no toilet facilities at the club.
