News and more on our activities.

975 walks

Of course, every walk, walker and mile walked is an achievement and something to be proud of - and we can’t count the pleasure we get from being out in the fresh air, exploring landscapes and catching up with friends. But it's fun to look at the data. In 2025 we led 975 walks in Hampshire and wider afield, with 2,936 attendances on walks. That meant an amazing 23,718 walker-miles (miles x attendees). The map above shows the stating point for each walk.

Path clearance work

Our group has some new battery powered equipment that was given a first work out when several team members got together to support Friends of St Giles Hill to clear pathways and overgrown areas in the Park.

We're also working on a flurry of autumn path clearance work at the moment. Recently we reestablished a completely overgrown path at Ovington before it was lost altogether. It's amazing what two brush cutters can achieve in a couple of hours!

Path Watchers

Our team of Path Watchers will be walking the many Rights of Way in their patches over the autumn, logging and reporting any problems with signage and access to the Hampshire Countryside Service Team.

Footpath closed sign

Hampshire County Council publishes temporary Rights of Way closures and diversions, together with other changes or disruptions on its Map of Public Rights of Way. Look for the routes marked in red and click on the route.
