Very overgrown in places, head high vegetation made going difficult, particularly beyond Nunford Dairy, along what appeared to be on an old stream bed.The steep track up from Woodhayne farm was unpleasant, and the path from road to and past Lexhayne farm indistinct / disappeared under plenty of thistles. Accurate map reading and compass work required. We were on a walk-out for our Club - did not do it with them! Golden Cap instead - magnificent.

Fantastic route with beautiful views. A mixture of farmland, country lanes, fields, rivers, pretty hamlets and woodland paths. The route passes by Shute Barton (with a conveniently placed bench for a picnic) and Umborne House. A moderate walk finishing with a choice of cafes and pubs in Colyton.
