I used to live in Furnace and I did this walk many times. The Auchindrain museum is worth visiting and the tea room there is very nice. If you cross the bridge at Miller's Falls, you can go right and uphill not long after, which leads to a lovely climb up to a series of small hill lochs. There is a stream that you either have to ford or jump by looking to the left where it narrows to about a meter and a half in width. I have climbed the hill (which meant trudging over some boggy ground covered in heather) and gotten some amazing views from the peak.
