Barisdale is a small pinewood in one of the most remote areas of Scotland with no road vehicle access. A challenging and long route for experienced walkers but highly rewarding.
The small area of pinewood lies tucked in a steep glen deep in the Knoydart Peninsula. Access is either a tough walk alongside Loch Hourne or a shorter but still demanding walk from Inverie where there is a ferry to Mallaig. An overnight stay is advisable but there is plenty choice from camping at Barrisdale Bay surrounded by Munros or staying in bothies. There is also a hotel at Inverie.
