Bournemouth Happy Monday Ramblers Group

We are the Bournemouth Happy Monday Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Poole Boating Lake and The Kitchen

Start:

WALK FROM PARKSTONE (PART OF THE RNLI TOUR)

This walk is only for those who have already booked to go on the tour of the RNLI workshops.

The walk will start at Elgin Road, Parkstone where there is free roadside parking by Parkstone Cemetery. From there the route is through Whitecliff Harbourside Park, and then anti-clockwise around Poole Boating Lake with an early lunch stop at the Kitchen Cafe overlooking the lake or picnic on the seats nearby. If bad weather the walk will not stop but continue to the RNLI building which has a bar/restaurant. The route will include going through the Dolphin Shopping Centre and across Gravestones Park. After the RNLI Tour the route will be via St James' Church, Poole Quay, Harbourside Walk around Parkstone Harbour to Elgin Road.

Ensbury via Stour Valley Way

This circular 6.5 mile walk starts from a small car park off New Road, Bournemouth, and forms a Stour Valley Way loop, where the Way runs along the north of the river between Parley and Throop Weir and back along the south of the river.

Iford Weir - You may spot a Heron fishing from the stones on the opposite bank.

Stour Wildlife Opportunities Circuit, Iford, Dorset

A mainly flat, riverside route from Iford, including an out and back section along the Stour Valley Way, with the opportunity to see a variety of water birds. Ground may be uneven and muddy along the river bank.

Start:

Hike around Hengistbury Head

A very enjoyable walk that follows the River Stour as it joins Christchurch Harbour. The route continues to the farthest point of Hengistbury Head before following along the coast towards Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve. It is at this part of the walk that has the highest point which provides an impressive view along the coast. We will then continue along the coastal path heading back to the car park. 25 spaces available. Once all places are taken, I will add people to a reserve list. Summer Coach trip - Winchester

The coach will leave Hamworthy Club, Canford Magna BH21 3AP at 9.30am, arriving at Winchester approx 10.30am.  It is intended to include a 7 mile walk from Winchester Cathedral via  St Catherine's Hill and Hockley Golf course, returning along the banks of the River Itchen past St Cross Church and hospital.  

The coach will leave Winchester at 17.00.

Cost: £10, to be paid at time of booking, (cheques made payable to Mr K.D Horton).  Cash is acceptable if given in person, as is Paypal (friend and family transfer only) or BACS.  Please contact the Social Secretary for details.

Until Sunday 15th June bookings will be accepted ONLY from Ramblers members, who may also book for one accompanying non-member.  There-after, any remaining seats will be available for non-members as well as members.  

For the trip to be viable, sufficient bookings are required by Thursday 19th June.  Cheques will not be processed until this date.  In the event of a cancellation, cheques will be returned to you or shredded as requested.

Ipswich group holiday. We walk out of Studland up to the ridge at Ballard Down.  As we reach the top there should be views inland to Corfe Castle. We then walk along the ridge to Ballard Point and follow the coast to Old Harry Rocks, enjoying views of the Jurassic Coast and the Isle of Wight. Returning into Studland before we all head our individual ways.
