Walk About 2018

Join us for our Walk About festival from 26 May to 3 June and uncover hidden gems in your area that can only be found on foot.

With hundreds of free group led walks
taking place during the festival, we’ve got a walk for you. From rambles through green fields to urban explorations, there’s plenty to enjoy. And be sure to look out for the hidden gems along the way – the unexpected views that open up in front of you; peaceful picnic spots or ancient ruins steeped in history.

If you don’t want to join a group walk, you can still get involved. Find a route to walk with Ramblers Routes – our online library of over 3,000 walking routes. We’re also pulling together our top hidden gem routes, which come with printable, easy-to-read maps and simple step-by-step route directions. You'll be able to find these on this page when the festival begins in May.

You can also use our free walks tracker to log your own walks during the festival. Simply sign up and setup your walking profile and as you step out you'll be able to record your walks to earn up to 32 unique badges, and watch your progress as you climb the leaderboards
