Overview

Barnford Park, nestled in the heart of Oldbury, provides a delightful experience for its visitors. The Park comprises open areas of grass within a formal mature tree structure of linear avenues and small groups and is a site of local importance for nature conservation due to the alpine plants it supports. With its  traditional parkland character, multi use games area, children's play areas, rose gardens, maze, skate/bike track and gym equipment, the park accommodates a diverse range of formal and informal activities. The park houses 'Pudding rock'- a significant geological feature comprising a mixture of stone and volcanic material formed 300 million years ago.

The walk is dog-friendly, but it is expected that dogs are kept on leads at all times.

This friendly walk takes in much of the park on a circular route starting at the entrance of Stepway Wellbeing Centre, Pound Road (Merton Close) B68 8NG. There are benches along the route which provide ample opportunities to rest.
