Overview

From the AONB centre to Albaston, then taking an old track (rough underfoot) down towards Danescombe, back on road for a while before taking the footpath to the lower part of the Danescombe Valley and to Calstock. Mostly downhill, but with one steepish climb for part of the way.

Be aware that paths may be muddy and uneven and conditions can change, so wear appropriate footwear and comfortable clothing. A walking stick is useful too. Also consider bringing a drink and snack, should you require it, particularly for longer walks.

We like to have time for a cuppa afterwards, either in a local cafe or at the Tamar Valley Centre near Gunnislake – whichever is the most convenient.
