Overview

Join us on the Healthworks Healthwalk this week in beautiful Jesmond Dene. Free Parking is available in Heaton Park car park (NE6 5HN).

Meeting time is between 0945 and 1000 and the meeting point is at The Coffee Cart by the side of the Sambuca Pavilion, 50 yards from the car park in Heaton Park. Toilet facilities are available at the start of the walk in the Sambuca Pavilion and en route in Millfield House cafe.

This is a relatively easy paced walk in a city centre location offering an oasis of green and tranquil riverside views. We will walk through the Dene heading towards the waterfall and loop back alongside the River Ouse passing Pets' Corner.

There is a slight and gradual incline at the end of the walk as we walk back from Jesmond Dene towards the Heaton Park Car Park. Benches and rest points are available at this section. The rest of the walk is mostly flat, with a completely flat riverside section on the return loop.
