Newark Wellbeing Walk

Newark Wellbeing walks start and finish outside Rumbles Cafe in Sconce and Devon Park every Thursday. These walks are sponsored by Lincolnshire Co-op and are open to everyone.   YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER IN ADVANCE.  We have a variety of strolls - around the park, along the river and around the town - and these will vary every week. Walks last between 30 - 90 minutes and can be up to 3 miles. There is usually a longer and a shorter version to suit everyone, both accompanied by an experienced leader.  The walk leaders will choose the most appropriate for the group and the conditions.  The walks are easy going and friendly, very suitable if you are just getting back into walking, just starting out walking or just want to add an extra walk to your week. Do come along for a stroll and a chat. Refreshments available at Rumbles after the walk.

Gedling Country Park Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a walk around Gedling Country Park. Join us for a walk around our wonderful Gedling Country Park, which is a local nature reserve.  We enjoy watching the natural surroundings change through the seasons and spot lots of wildlife including the swans with cygnets, sky larks and buzzards.  We meet at the benches and notice board between the car park (off Spring Lane) and the cafe/toilets.  There are some hills but we take breaks when necessary and everyone always get round.  Whilst most of the park has good paths there are areas that get muddy during the winter months so please wear appropriate footwear.

Mapperley Top Wellbeing Walk

We would love you to join us for a walk around Mapperley. We meet at the benches on the paved area outside the shops on Mapperley Top, near the Oxfam and Headway charity shops and Birds. We are a very social group and you will be made most welcome.   Being Mapperley there are some hills but we take breaks when necessary and everyone always get round.  There is plenty of free two hour parking and lots of buses that stop near the meeting point  (the closest bus stop is called 'Mapperley Shops'.)   Whilst most of the walks take place on the pavement we do visit green areas such as Woodthorpe Grange Park and Digby Arboretum with some off-road parts so please wear appropriate footwear.
