Veterans Camaraderie Walk - Kingsmill Reservoir

This walk runs every other Tuesday. Join us for a leisurely stroll around Kingsmill Reservoir, The walk takes approximately one hour followed by coffee in the café for those who want to stay.
Meeting place: Outside the café at Kingsmill Resevoir
Time: 12:00 noon every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
Getting there: By bus - Rainbow 1 Tollhouse Hill
Parking - Main Car Park, NG17 4PA, 1st hour free, £1 an hour thereafter
Grade: Easy to moderate
Walk length: 1.5 miles
Duration: Approx 60 minutes
Terrain: Fairly flat - Mostly on pavements and paved paths, may include footpaths and grassed areas.

Join us for a walk around Gedling Country Park. We meet at the benches and notice board between the car park (off Spring Lane) and the cafe/toilets. Whilst most of the park has paths there are areas that get muddy during the winter months so please wear appropriate footwear.

Mapperley Top Wellbeing Walk

We would love you to join us for a walk around Mapperley. We meet at the benches on the paved area outside the shops on Mapperley Top, near the Oxfam and Headway charity shops, Birds and Alf & co.   We are a very social group and you will be made most welcome.  

Being Mapperley there are some hills but we take breaks when necessary and everyone always get round.  There is plenty of free two hour parking and lots of buses that stop near the meeting point  (the closest bus stop is called 'Mapperley Shops'.) Whilst most of the walks take place on the pavement we do visit green areas such as Woodthorpe Grange Park and Digby Arboretum with some off-road parts so please wear appropriate footwear.

Woodthorpe Grange Park Walk.

The Grange is a 19th century Grade II Listed manor which sits amidst a mix of landscape, including formal gardens. There is also an innovative train sculpture and sunken garden with water feature.
This is a friendly walking group that always welcomes new walkers to join them for a walk. They often stop for coffee and a chat along the way.

Forest Recreation Ground (Short)

This walk is a gentle introduction for anyone who wants to start walking and is designed for all levels of mobility. It is a short walk on established pathways within ‘The Forest’. The walking time is typically between 10 and 30 minutes with opportunities to rest and enjoy the views of the city as well as a café stop.

Meeting place: Forest Tram Stop

Time: 10:15am

Getting there: By bus - Turquoise 80 (Claypole Rd stop). By Tram - NET Tram (Forest Tram Stop). Parking - on street - Do not use Forest Ground Park and Ride.

Grade: Starter

West Bridgford, Lady Bay Poppy and Pint Wellbeing Walk

Every Tuesday 11.00-12.30, from Poppy & Pint Pub in Lady Bay. Walk around The Hook, along River Trent to Holme Pierrepoint watersports centre and back through Lady Bay. Walks last up to 90 minutes depending on walkers' ability and levels of fitness. Options of shorter walks.

Meet on the pub car park, near the tennis courts, ready to start at 11.00. Walkers sometimes stay at the Poppy & Pint café for coffee and a chat after the walk.

We explore a variety of routes from Strelley Village, which may take in the stones of The Monks Way, Strelley Hall, All Saints Church, Old Moor Wood, Shaws Plantation, Strelley Park Farm, Swingate Water Tower, Trowell Garden Centre, Broxtowe Country Park and Stonepit Plantation.

A number of pleasant walking routes in Wollaton Park, with it's 16th Century Hall, Lake and Deer Park. Often off footpaths so uneven ground and some inclines, sensible shoes are essential. If you wish to join the group for coffee, either bring a flask or buy one from the cafe.

Led wellbeing walk every Friday 2-3pm, starting by Rose and Crown Pub, Main Road, Cotgrave.

The route around Cotgrave Country Park varies from week to week, usually no longer than 2 miles and may include short hills. Walks last for about an hour with shorter 30 minute options available to suit your fitness and ability.
