Join us for a choice of an easy, slow walk or a longer walk in both parks. Both walks are lead by trained friendly leaders and go to the café for an optional drink afterwards. All paths are wheelchair or rolator accessible but keep a look out for uneven paths. This is a beautiful park with a Grade 1 listed landscape and the views are splendid in all seasons. Please dress for the weather, with comfortable footwear and bring a drink. Currently the park is closed to vehicles. You are advised to park in Arthur Street for easy access to the visitor centre.

Sefton OPERA Wellbeing Walks

Join us for a short walk around Bootle and sometimes beyond.  The walks last between 30 - 90 minutes and visit parks and greenspaces with time at the end for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.

The group meet at various locations each week to enjoy walks in different areas of Sefton. The group will visit local parks and green spaces with some time at the end for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.

We start out from the centre very week and walk a variety of routes locally including the Leeds and Liverpool canal, Mellanear Park and North Park.  We return to the centre for a cuppa and a chat after our walk.

May Logan 'Walk and Talk' Wellbeing Walks

All the walks except Crosby Marina route, start from the May Logan Healthy Living Centre on Knowsley Road in Bootle, just walk in to the centres main reception area. 

Crosby Marina route starts from Waterloo Train Station where we meet for this walk.

The May Logan walk will take around 60 minute to complete at a gentle pace.  The group enjoys walks in and around Bootle and Litherland, taking in the canal and local parks.

Wallasey Village Library Wellbeing Walk

We walk on Monday, Wednesday & Friday 11.00-12noon but not formally on Bank Holidays.
We meet outside the library, St Georges Road, Wallasey, CH45 3NE for a friendly walk at a varied pace to suit all the walkers. We go to the Breck, or Harrison Park and sometimes the beach, but on pavements rather than footpaths. We may go for a drink afterwards to please bring some money just in case.

Port Sunlight River Park Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a friendly walk around this relatively new park with superb views over the River Mersey and also into North Wales. The paths may be muddy and uneven so be prepared with good footwear! The distance is 1.5-2.5 miles but with our trained leaders we can adjust the pace to suit you and also offer a shorter, flatter walk. There is a steady climb to the summit of the park for confident walkers. We may go for a drink afterwards so please bring some money, just in case. We meet in the car park. Parking is available on the road and the nearest busses stop at Shore Drive.

Bootle Wellbeing Walks

This walk is a medium paced walking group and will cover distances of between 2 - 4 miles each week depending on location and  enjoy a various array of routes across Sefton and beyond.  The group usually meet at the same point each week, corner or Watts Lane/Park Lane, Bootle near the bus stop, please check the Sefton Walking and Cycling Newsletter to confirm meeting points.

Join us for a friendly evening walk in Wallasey Village with trained leaders. We alternate routes along the prom and into Harrison Park, or local roads if it's windy! There is a toilet at the station. Sometimes we go for a drink afterwards. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first walk to register and meet the leaders. We meet near the ticket office. Some walkers park in the station car park.

Port Sunlight Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a friendly walk around this ornate historic village with so many listed buildings. The footpaths in the village may be slippery and uneven so be prepared with good footwear! They are not suitable for wheelchairs or rolators. The distance is 1-2.5 miles and with our trained leaders we can adjust the pace to suit you. The route is generally flat but we do walk in The Dell where there are slight inclines. Sometimes we walk further to Port Sunlight River Park. We may go for a drink afterwards so please bring some money, just in case. Cars may be parked on the street a short walk from the start.

This walk is ideal for anyone wanting to build up their walking gradually.  We enjoy a 60 minute walk at a gentle pace around the local area including Rimrose Valley, the running track, Leeds and Liverpool Canal and Crosby Coastal Park and gardens.  After the walk we stop for a cuppa and a chat.

Waterloo Wellbeing Walks

Join us for walks in Sefton and beyond, the walk takes around 60 minutes to complete at a relaxed pace.  We visit various points of interest as much as possible on the walks and really hope that all our walkers enjoy each route the walk leaders have planned.   We use the train regularly to get to our walk destination, meeting on the platform at Waterloo Train Station, there is only one platform at Waterloo so look out for us.

Netherton Feelgood Factory Wellbeing Walks

This group take between 60 - 90 minutes on their walk every week, they set the pace and enjoy walking together.  The walking routes vary each week taking in local parks, along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath and the extensive Jubilee Woods site near the RIver Alt.

Arrowe Park Wellbeing Walk

Meet near the golf course outside the Hub, Arrowe Park Golf, CH49 4LW. This is a fast walk 2.5-3 miles. Stunning and spectacular vistas. Join our leaders for this fast walk of 2.5 -3miles on rough paths with uneven ground, mud and slopes. Boots are definitely needed! This walk is not suitable for beginners or anyone with mobility issues. The park has stunning and spectacular vistas, and we use a variety of routes in and out of the park on local footpaths.  There are currently no parking charges. Many of us go for a drink afterwards so please bring some money, just in case.

Eastham Group Practice/The Allport Surgery Walk

Why not come and join us for a low level Wellbeing Walk which will start at Eastham Group Practice - 47 Bridle Road, Bromborough, CH62 6EE.  Every Thursday at 11.30am with Jo and Mya, the distance will be up to 1.5 miles and will take around 30 minutes.  The walk will be on a mixture of pavements, tarmac, unpaved path & grass playing field.

Further Afield Wellbeing Walks

This walking group is for people affected by cancer, their families and friends.  The walks will start in different locations each month (see Additional Listings for information).  The walks are between 1 to 4 miles long although there is always a shorter route option on the day to suit all abilities and preferences PLUS we always stop for a cuppa after our walks.

Royden Wellbeing Walk

This is our most challenging walk over natural paths with uneven ground and there can be steep inclines. It's a beautiful park and well worth the effort. We recommend wearing walking boots in all weathers! The group meeting in the car park and you will need to bring your bank card as the pay and display machine only takes card. This can take time so please arrive early. The trained leaders use a variety of routes so the walk will follow different paths each week both in and around the park. If travelling by bus then please note that it is a 20 minute walk from Frankby Cemetery.

West Kirby Monday Wellbeing Walk

Our walks meet inside West Kirby Concourse reception area. You can't miss the us and everyone is very welcoming to any new walkers. We go off as two groups, one is a slower pace and shorter walk, whilst the other group will walk further. We have a wide range of different walks - around the marine lake, up and down the prom, along the Wirral Way, around Ashton Park, along the beach, these are just some of our different and varied routes. The groups then meet back at West Kirby Concourse for coffee and there are also toilets there.

Neston Wellbeing Walk

Come and join us for an amble around picturesque Neston & Parkgate.  This circular walk starts and finishes at Neston Library.  We alternate between 3 routes (depending on weather/time of year) that take in parts of  the Wirral Way, local parks & footpaths as well as visiting Parkgate to enjoy views over the River Dee.  The walk lasts 60-90 minutes depending on pace and rest stops, is mainly on good paths, no major inclines or stiles.  Drinks are available at the end of the walk courtesy of the Library.  

We are a lovely friendly group who welcome new walkers.

Please join us for some fresh air and a chat on this wellbeing walk in Ellesmere Port. Meeting at Westminster Community Centre we will start walking at 1pm on a Monday.
