Sefton Trails Wellbeing Walk

Join us on this walk and you will encounter different routes across Sefton.  The walks are at a moderate pace.  Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration if its your first walk with us.  Discover parts of Sefton you may not have been to before, whilst getting in your dose of physical activity for the day.  We meet at different location points each week.

Start:

Port Sunlight Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a friendly walk around this ornate historic village with so many listed buildings. The footpaths in the village may be slippery and uneven so be prepared with good footwear! They are not suitable for wheelchairs or rolators. The distance is 1-2.5 miles and with our trained leaders we can adjust the pace to suit you. The route is generally flat but we do walk in The Dell where there are slight inclines. Sometimes we walk further to Port Sunlight River Park. We may go for a drink afterwards so please bring some money, just in case. Cars may be parked on the street a short walk from the start.

We walk on Monday, Wednesday & Friday 11.00-12noon but not formally on Bank Holidays.
We meet outside the library, St Georges Road, Wallasey, CH45 3NE for a friendly walk at a varied pace to suit all the walkers. We go to the Breck, or Harrison Park and sometimes the beach, but on pavements rather than footpaths. We may go for a drink afterwards to please bring some money just in case.

West Kirby Wednesday Wellbeing Walk

Our walks meet inside West Kirby Concourse Leisure Centre in reception. You can't miss the us and everyone is very welcoming to any new walkers. We go off as three groups, one is a slower pace and another is a shorter walk, whilst the other group will walk further and for longer. We have a wide range of different walks - around the marine lake, up and down the prom, along the Wirral Way, around Ashton Park, along the beach, these are just some of our different and varied routes. All the groups then meet back at West Kirby Concourse where we go to the cafe for a coffee and there are toilets there too.

Please join us for some fresh air and a chat on this wellbeing walk in Ellesmere Port. Meeting at Ellesmere Port Library with the walk starting at 1pm. It will last 45 mins approx and take in the lovely Whitby Park.

Sankey Valley

The Sankey Valley Walk will take in several routes starting at The Car Park close to the Rangers Visitor Centre 225 Blackbrook Road WA11 0AB.  Come along and help to explore the walks around Stanley Bank Mill.  Take a stroll up to Carr Mill Dam or walk along the Sankey canal towards Parr to see the Havannah Flash stretch of water.

May Logan 'Walk and Talk' Wellbeing Walks

All the walks except Crosby Marina route, start from the May Logan Healthy Living Centre on Knowsley Road in Bootle, just walk in to the centres main reception area. 

Crosby Marina route starts from Waterloo Train Station where we meet for this walk.

The May Logan walk will take around 60 minute to complete at a gentle pace.  The group enjoys walks in and around Bootle and Litherland, taking in the canal and local parks.

Start:

Formby Wellbeing Walks

This is a longer walk at a brisk pace and will take around 90 minutes to complete.  There are routes to suit everybody and through the Cabin Hill Nature Reserve, National Trust Nature Reserve and Natural England Nature Reserve.

Please wear footwear suitable for walking through through sand dunes, woodland paths and on uneven ground.

The last Thursday of each month we meet at Freshfield Train Station, 10.30am

Eastham Group Practice/The Allport Surgery Walk

Why not come and join us for a low level Wellbeing Walk which will start at Eastham Group Practice - 47 Bridle Road, Bromborough, CH62 6EE.  Every Thursday at 11.30am with Jo and Mya, the distance will be up to 1.5 miles and will take around 30 minutes.  The walk will be on a mixture of pavements, tarmac, unpaved path & grass playing field.

Birkenhead Park Thursday Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a choice of an easy, slow walk or a longer walk in both parks. Both walks are lead by trained friendly volunteer leaders and go to the café for an optional drink afterwards. All paths are wheelchair or rolator accessible but keep a look out for uneven paths. This is a beautiful park with a Grade 1 listed landscape and the views are splendid in all seasons. Please dress for the weather, with comfortable footwear and bring a drink. Currently the park is closed to vehicles. You are advised to park in Arthur Street for easy access to the visitor centre.

Royden Wellbeing Walk

This is our most challenging walk over natural paths with uneven ground and there can be steep inclines. It's a beautiful park and well worth the effort. We recommend wearing walking boots in all weathers! The group meeting in the car park and you will need to bring your bank card as the pay and display machine only takes card. This can take time so please arrive early. The trained leaders use a variety of routes so the walk will follow different paths each week both in and around the park. If travelling by bus then please note that it is a 20 minute walk from Frankby Cemetery.

Sefton OPERA Wellbeing Walks

Join us for a short walk around Bootle and sometimes beyond.  The walks last between 30 - 90 minutes and visit parks and greenspaces with time at the end for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.

The group meet at various locations each week to enjoy walks in different areas of Sefton. The group will visit local parks and green spaces with some time at the end for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.

Across the Lake

Taylor Park

Come along to Taylor Park Walk for a walk around the lake on the park and leading up to the viewpoint on the hill at the park.   Alternatively, the walk around the lake then leads into Oak Wood where you will see squirrels, a variety of birds and fauna before returning to the start of the walk at the boathouse.

Ellesmere Port Westminster

Join us for some fresh air and a chat on this wellbeing walk in Ellesmere Port. Meeting at Westminster Community Centre we will start walking at 1pm on a Monday. The walk will last approximately 45 mins and either take a route up to Jack's Wood via Hollymere or over to the canal, both finishing with a refreshment afterwards at Hollymere.

The Four Acre Walk is a walk into the local natural spaces including Brickfields and The Dream.  Come along and explore the of the fauna and wildlife to be found there.  There are well laid paths that make the walk accessible with some slight inclines.  Come along and join us for a bit of fresh air.  Remember, ‘It is better to be out than in’.

This walk is ideal for anyone wanting to build up their walking gradually.  We enjoy a 60 minute walk at a gentle pace around the local area including Rimrose Valley, the running track, Leeds and Liverpool Canal and Crosby Coastal Park and gardens.  After the walk we stop for a cuppa and a chat.

Arrowe Park Wellbeing Walk

Meet near the golf course outside the Hub, Arrowe Park Golf, CH49 4LW. This is a fast walk 2.5-3 miles. Stunning and spectacular vistas. Join our leaders for this fast walk of 2.5 -3miles on rough paths with uneven ground, mud and slopes. Boots are definitely needed! This walk is not suitable for beginners or anyone with mobility issues. The park has stunning and spectacular vistas, and we use a variety of routes in and out of the park on local footpaths.  There are currently no parking charges. Many of us go for a drink afterwards so please bring some money, just in case.
