WALK FROM WALNEY COMMUNITY TRUST, SPRING MOUNT HALL, AMPHITRITE STREET, WALNEY, LA143AR APPROXIMATE 2 MILE ROUTE AROUND WALNEY. ROUTE DIFFERS SLIGHTLY EACH WEEK. FLAT ROUTE ON PAVEMENT.

Cartmel Wellbeing Walk
The Cartmel Wellbeing Walk is held every Tuesday (apart from when it’s Christmas Day) leaving from Cartmel Racecourse Grandstand drive (not the main car park) at 11am. All standards of ability are catered for and walks will be organised on the day to suit individuals who turn up. There is no need to book in advance and attendance is free.
Special clothing and boots are not necessary, but please dress for the weather and stout comfortable footwear is advised. The main walk normally lasts around one hour but shorter walks will be held to suit individuals. Please turn up at 10.45am on your first occasion to register. Barrow Park Wednesday Wander
Sociable and gentle walk around Barrow Park, everyone is welcome to join us for a ‘Walk & Talk. It’s open to all ages and abilities, the walk lasts for 30 to 45 minutes; and we go for a hot drink afterwards. All you need is comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather.

Start:
Walney Shoreline Walk
Starting from the Walney Community Hub at Biggar Bank on Walney, next to the bus stop at 1030. Walkers meet at 1020 to register. Start off down Ocean Rd, past the King Alfred Hotel and along Channelside to Jubilee Bridge, pausing at the bottom of Central Drive to wait for the lights, we then go along to Prom to Mill Lane, turning left to go west across the Island past the Allotment Soup Centre, then climbing to the end of Mill Lane at Furness Golf Club, taking the path across the Course, we arrive back at Sandy Gap beach. Going South the route takes the Greenway past Central Drive and Back to the Hub, normally takes 1h 20mins. Time to have a coffee in the popular café.

Grange-over-Sands Wellbeing Walk
The Grange-over-Sands Wellbeing Walk is held every Thursday (apart from when it’s Christmas Day) meeting in the pay and display car park opposite the Town Hall/Victoria Hall and behind the Commodore Pub. The walk assembles at the end by the memorial park.
All standards of ability are catered for, and walks will be organised on the day to suit individuals who turn up. There is no need to book in advance and attendance is free (apart from car park charges). Special clothing and boots are not necessary, but please dress for the weather and stout comfortable footwear is advised. The main walk normally lasts around one hour but a short, gentle and level walk is available for anyone with limited mobility. Please turn up at 10.45am on your first occasion to register.

Thursday 19th March 2026 – 3 miles – 4.8 km
Hawcoat Quarry& Ormsgill Reservoir
Commence at St. Francis Church, Schneider Road LA14 4AJ for a spring suburban well-
being walk, taking in parts of the 19th Century Hawcoat Quarry, which provided the
sandstone for our Dock’s structure. We will then head down Schneider rd and take in the
20th Century reservoir loop with it’s array of birds and waterfowl. Ending at Starbucks,

Barrow Buddies - Foxfield to Kirkby in Furness Railway
Friday 26th March – Foxfield to Kirkby in Furness Railway – 4.1 miles / 6.5km
A scenic and rural walk from FoxField Railway LA20 6BX to Kirkby-in-Furness Station,
LA17 7UB Taking in the stunning air and views of the Duddon Estuary against the
backdrop of the southern fells. The route follows a mix of farm tracks and Lanes and is a
flat linear route with some uneven terrains. Option for a cross-field route if weather
permits! Approx. 4 miles Leave Barrow Station 09:32hrs. Return 11:59hrs (or 13:49hrs)

Kendal Sunday WalksnWags
This free wellbeing walk normally takes place on the 1st Sunday of every month - but this can vary so please check the calendar. We meet just before 10:00am, outside Kendal Library, Stricklandgate. Walks last up to 60 minutes and always go at a pace which works for everyone.
We have a range of routes taking in the many green spaces, river and canal walks, Kendal Yards and points of interest around the town.
‘WalksnWags’ walks are always suitable to bring a dog and cater for walkers of all abilities. Everyone is welcome, with or without a furry friend.
All walks end with the opportunity to go for an optional cuppa at a dog friendly cafe in the centre of Kendal.

Bootle Village Walk
A circular walk through the village of Bootle.
From the car park opposite the church, (which has a donation box money to air ambulance) and has disabled toilets available. We will go down Church Lane pathed except for approx.100 meters of grass or road walk, and back up Chapel Lane slight incline, talking a detour down the lane at the surgery which is a gravelled path (shared use for vehicles going to farms), returning via the same path and continuing the circuit, via Main Street (A595).
There are approximately four benches on route and the route is relatively flat, with no gates or styes and will take approx. 45 minutes.
