Overview

Why not join us on a Thursday morning for a sociable walk round Hillsborough Park at a speed that's comfortable for you? We start off this walk together as one big group and then break up to take a choice of longer or shorter routes to the walled garden. In the shelter of the beautifully maintained gardens we re-group, rest on the many benches and continue our conversations before walking on to the Park Hotel on Wadsley Lane for a cup of tea or coffee. This group doesn't always walk in the park. They have a programme of monthly off-site walks to ring the changes. The events listing will indicate which walks are cancelled.

Meet just inside the park entrance at the Middlewood Road/Parkside Road junction (the Outibridge/Stocksbridge end of the park). Hillsborough has plenty of roadside parking in this area, there is also a pay and display car park within the park and the Park Hotel (where we go after the walk for refeshments) has a car park. There is a tram stop on Middlewood Road just a short walk away and plenty of buses run along Penistone Road.
