Overview

We start in the centre of Romiley at Hewitt’s cafe and soon enter the lovely Tangshutt Fields Park, where we pass Tangshutt meadow, the wooded stream valley and playing fields before following the hedgerow lined path through farmer’s fields. Then we pass Romiley Board Mill bringing us back into the centre of Romiley.

The walk is about one and a third miles with some slopes but also benches along the way. Both bus stops and Romiley train station are less than five minutes away from the start of the walk and there is parking, although not free, behind the Romiley Forum theatre. As the walk is mainly through green space, there is always wildlife to see and hear along the way and sometimes free fruit from Tangshutt Community Orchard.
