Walk Into Wellbeing is a 4-week course designed to nurture you with gentle exercise and nature connection. It aims to provide a safe space to talk, a chance to bond with like-minded people, and to spend time in nature. It will run on 4 consecutive Tuesday mornings 10:00 to 12:00 from 24th September to 15th October.
Each week will be a therapeutic experience where we will take a gentle walk around Bentley Priory Nature Reserve. The walks will be interspersed with connection activities based on the theme of our senses.
We invite you to immerse yourself in nature and emerge feeling stronger, more grounded, and connected to yourself, others and to nature.
We will walk; listen to nature, poetry, and each other; sit amongst the trees; explore; get in touch with our creative selves (no art or drawing involved!) and just be, in this beautiful wild space.
What to expect: Each week we will take a gentle walk around Bentley Priory Nature Reserve. The rhythm of the sessions will be a series of 10 to 20 minutes walks, interspersed by connection activities. The aim of the activities is to enable connection to yourself, each other, and the natural world. To do some of the activities we may sit together on logs, lean against trees, or even sit on the ground (if you are able to, and using mats).
Each week will have a theme:
Week 1: Connection.
Week 2: Nature Connection Through Touch
Week 3: Hear and be heard.
Week 4: Seeing- New Perspectives
Research shows that walking in nature improves wellbeing and health. This course will help make you feel stronger, make friends, and give yourself that much-needed break that will make caring so much more sustainable.
Walk Into Wellbeing is run in association with The Ramblers Association, Harrow Health Walks (Harrow Council) and Harrow Nature Heroes.
