Frequently asked questions
More information to help you prepare for your walks with us - in a simple Q&A format.
If you have any other questions, please contact our Walks Programme Coordinator.
I'm not sure what level of walk is right for me
Start with one of our easier walks and see how you get on. You can always try a longer walk next time if you feel you need something more.
What should I bring with me?
Often you’ll not need much more than common sense: wear the right footwear, depending on how long or difficult the walk is; bring something to eat and drink; and don’t forget to check the weather! Other than that, walk leaders will give you all the advice you need.
Can I bring my dog?
We regret that the only dogs allowed are registered assistance dogs.
Is there a Facebook page for North Beds Ramblers?
Yes. You can find us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/northbedsramblers
What are the benefits of membership?
The benefits of membership are many. You have the opportunity to walk with us every week and discover our wonderful region with friendly, like-minded people.
You can walk with any Ramblers group anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales.
All UK members of the Ramblers are offered discounts at Cotswold Outdoor, a quarterly magazine and access to libraries of maps and walking routes.
Just as importantly, your membership helps the Ramblers nationally to continue the essential work of ensuring that the countryside is open to all. Whether this is our work locally to maintain footpaths and report access issues to the local authority, or campaigns and appeals in support of ramblers nationally, it is all made possible by membership subscriptions. A modest investment with the promise of much more in return.
