Short and easy walks, Path maintenance
Loddon Valley Ramblers are a very sociable group (with a membership of over 400) who serve the people of Wokingham Borough, including Earley, Winnersh, Twyford,  and the villages in the west of the Borough. We help to maintain public rights of way, and we provide a variety of interesting walks across the Borough and neighbouring areas. We aim to provide walks for all ages and all walking abilities. Our website contains details all our forthcoming activities. This includes our Walks Programme that gives information on our short walks (up to 6 miles) which we offer on Sundays and Thursdays and our long walks, (up to 15 miles), which we offer every Tuesday and on every other Sunday. These walks are always within reasonable driving distance from Wokingham. For the shorter walks there is quite often an opportunity for a pub lunch afterwards.
Twice a year we organise walking weekends away in some of the most scenic parts of the country, for instance the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and Cotswolds. Most years we also arrange longer walking holidays abroad.
We also arrange social activities include summer BBQs, quizzes and dinner dances and seasonal events at Christmas.
We actively monitor the condition of our local rights of way and report defects to the local authority. We act as a pressure group to ensure that landowners comply with their legal obligations and that the local authority keeps local footpaths open and in good repair. We are regularly consulted about planning applications which affect rights of way.
To help the local authority keep footpaths in good order, we organise volunteer working parties to improve walking surfaces, cut back intrusive vegetation, and repair footbridges. We have an ongoing programme to replace stiles with kissing gates across Wokingham Borough.

We have established the Wokingham Way, which is a series of attractive walks that as far as possible follows the Wokingham Borough boundary, circumnavigating the whole Borough in 10 stages. Details can be found on our website (www.lvra.org.uk/wokway).

We welcome new members and can promise a friendly and rewarding experience whilst  enjoying the outstanding countryside in our area. Come and meet us!!
