Group name: North West London
This group is a part of Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and West Middlesex Area.
Our activities include:
Norrth West London Ramblers Group helps local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. We organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
The North West London Group of the Ramblers draws its membership primarily from the London Boroughs of Harrow and Brent, though many members come from surrounding areas.
We organise a group day walk every Sunday, usually around 10-12 miles but sometimes shorter or longer. Most of our walks explore the Chilterns, but our programme also includes walks around the London area, and sometimes further afield - Surrey, Kent, Berkshire, Essex, etc. Our walks are accessible by public transport, usually starting from a station, and sometimes finishing at a different station. We usually stop at a pub at lunchtime, but walkers are encouraged to bring a packed lunch and eat nearby.
We also monitor the footpath network in Harrow; our Footpath Secretary is in regular contact with the Council over path problems. The Group has adopted a stretch of footpath on the edge of Pinner Park Farm, on which we have occasional path clearing mornings.
