East Devon Ramblers are represented by two different Facebook accounts on social media.
East Devon Ramblers – Public. A public page, which means that anyone can view content. You don’t have to be a member of either Facebook or East Devon Ramblers, just search for East Devon Ramblers – Public. Facebook members are welcome to post here on the visitors’ tab. Features may include, social events and special walks, items of interest from Ramblers UK, path news and updates on local trails, and the occasional walk report with photos in order to give readers a flavour of walking with East Devon Ramblers.
More regular walk reports with photos are shared to East Devon Ramblers – Members. Opened in early 2021, this is a private page for members of East Devon Ramblers and to those of other groups who walk with us. To view and post, you will need to be a Facebook user and an East Devon Rambler authorised member. It’s a private social space to share news and photos, sell or gift unwanted gear, get walk advice, help for a recce, share a lift, really anything walk related. Additional members are most welcome, why not give it a go?
Through Eve Maunder's media and community engagement campaign, East Devon Ramblers have provided interviews and articles for TV, Radio and Printed Media. This has included the 2018 Winter Walking BBC Breakfast TV appearance in the Otter Valley, various Local Radio interviews, and numerous local journals, as illustrated below.
Eve’s article in the December 2019 issue, “Footsteps to Health and Wellbeing”, below.
In the 19 October 2021 edition, Eve was interviewed by the magazine as part of their "Health Extra" feature, in which she describes her first hand experience of the many benefits of social walking with The Ramblers.
The two-page spread is pictured below, and can be downloaded here.
In the January 2022 edition, there is an article on the benefits of walking, and an accompanying family‑oriented winter walk in the form of a Treasure Hunt.
In the magazine there will be a link to this website for readers to download a copy of the clues to be solved along the route, and separately, a document of the answers.
