About Us

South Dorset Ramblers typically organise three walks each week between 5 and 12 miles :

• every Wednesday all day 
• every Saturday all day 
• every Sunday all day

The Group also organise other regular activities:

helping to arrange Wessex Wanderer Railway Walks around the Weymouth - Bristol line during the summer months

walking holidays in other parts of Britain and in Europe

annual Christmas lunch

occasional outings and similar social functions

The Group aims to promote The Ramblers objectives in our area by monitoring proposed changes to Rights of Way (ROW), checking the state of paths and opposing developments that have a negative impact on the countryside. We check that existing ROW are usable and carry out path clearing where necessary. We also publicise The Ramblers and its work in the area.
