COVID-19 Pandemic

Ramblers Scotland has now stated that all COVID related restrictions have been removed. Car sharing can now resume, with all the benefits arising from having fewer cars travelling to our planned walks, cost savings and helping those without a car to access the walks. The meeting point for walks will again be Leys Park car park, Leys Park Road, Dunfermline, KY12 0AA.

The need to record names and contact details of those joining walks for COVID Track and Trace reasons is discontinued. However, we would like all those interested in a particular walk to book by contacting the leader.  A maximum number of persons will be allowed on any walk. The exact number will be determined by the leader according to the specific risk assessment. Under most circumstances, walks will be kept to a maximum of 15 walkers. Details on booking each walk will be included in the walk description. If you would like to join a walk, please book a place by contacting the walk leader by telephone or text on the number provided. Should the number of walkers exceed the maximum allowed, a reserve list will be held. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place.

Guest non-members are welcome to come and try one of our walks. We feel sure you will then be keen to join the Ramblers and enjoy our company regularly.

Walks are organised every two weeks, either Saturday or Sunday, in addition to occasional mid-week walks. In the summer programme, evening walks of 2-3 hours may be scheduled during the week.

We walk throughout the year, with a varied programme, ranging from leisurely, often local routes, to more demanding mountain and moorland walking. All walks are graded and distance and ascent are given in the walk description to enable you choose one that suits your ability. For your first walk with us you are advised to choose one that might be "too easy" rather than overstretch yourself.

Dog walkers are welcome.  While it's our group policy that walks are dog friendly, unless otherwise stated, please contact the walk leader beforehand to ensure the walk is suitable.

It is advisable to check the Ramblers Scotland website before joining any walk, in case of any last-minute changes.

Dunfermline and West Fife Ramblers is a member group of the Forth Valley, Fife and Tayside (FVFT) area of the Ramblers organisation. The area has it's own website, showing all the walks currently planned by member groups: https://www.fvft-ramblers.org.uk/
