Date: 6 December 2021
As I write, we’ve begun to close off the year with Christmas lunch on 5 December and a Winter Solstice walk on 19 December; both strong Finchley & Hornsey traditions. Despite the generally thinner walks programme, I think we can look back on a successful year – and forward to 2022.
AGM returns to Whetstone
This year’s AGM was the first in-person one for two years. It was good to meet up at the familiar hall in Whetstone after enjoying Julia Reid’s morning walk. We welcomed three new committee members: Jenny Pitkin (Secretary), Jane Gibson (Treasurer) and Heather Allan as ordinary member.
Wanted – a new Auditor
We are looking for an Auditor to audit the Group’s accounts once a year. If you would like to take on this important job, please get in touch with me or a committee member (see above).
Leaders: a reminder
Please remember to use the Teamup facility (https://teamup.com/ks414d66fd5379f8b3) as well as the website when posting walks – even if the details aren’t finalised? One or two have had to cancel walks because they didn’t know their slot was taken. Thanks.
We are sorry to report the recent death of Richard Willsher. Richard was an active member of the Group in its early days, and those who remember him talk of his energy, enterprise and originality.
