There's more to Hexham Ramblers than just walks and path maintenance. We like to meet socially too, and we offer our members short training courses in walk leadership and navigation.
Every year, we hold a Christmas/New Year lunch and a summer dinner at local pubs and restaurants. These are always great fun and highlights of our social calendar.

We invite guest speakers to come and share their experiences with us. In September 2017, Chris Francis talked to us about the walk he did from Land's End to John O'Grants in aid of Tynedale Hospice at Home. (Chris's account of his journey, Stroll On, is still available from the hospice shop for £8.95.) In June 2018, we learned about the hugely important work done by the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team. A real eye-opener for us - you had to be there...
A big audience for Chris Francis....
... and his 'backing band', the Four Fivers.
As part of the Ramblers' Northumbria region, Hexham Ramblers offers its members the chance to do short training courses to improve walk leadership, navigation and first aid skills and get the most out of walking in our wonderful Northumberland countryside. A great opportunity and another benefit of Ramblers membership.
